150 force powerhead replacement

buying rebuilt powerhead, just about ready to remove head, have a manusl, any headsup to worry about befor i hook up the cherrypicker, seems driveshaft and crank should be connected but not really desctibed in manual. any tips on instalation?

Should be a piece of cake as long as you have remembered to unhook the shift rod. I have found it easier to remove lower unit (and you should to replace impeller). Be careful the drive shaft will be in two pieces and if upper stays in crank it will surely drop on your toe. Don't lose the union for shifter if removing lower unit. They always fall off.

Yeah , I got a tip. When you reinstall the motor leg, use a thread sealer on those screws AND retorque them after a couple of hours.

so the job will go easier if i drop the lower unit first, thanks so much thats just the kind of stuff i figured the manual would not inclued. Thanks again for the tips gentlemen.<br /><br />dave in toledo
