150 horsepower johnson. Need help please.

I have a 2000 150 hp johnson. Model# J150vx999 Serial # G 04 7991 63<br />The system check for hot engine started going off everytime I get above 3000 rpms. I am replacing the water pump and thermostat. Problem is I dont know how to locate the thermostat. Help please, Laura

Get an owners manual. Never mess with the engine without one.

I agree get a manual, because there is more than one thermostat and you will need the manual to tell you where they are.
