150 HPDI stalls when accelerating in neutral, when backing up and on idle

Hi, i am having a problem with my HPDI when put in neutral gear and accelerating it stalls. When backing up at dock stalls and also at idle. I ran the boat and it was flawless at 25mph, but when trying to anchor it stalls.

I replaced all fuel filters las January and added Racol, but not Ring Free.

monitor fuel pressures/vacuum to see if there is a problem with restrictions.

You should not accelerate motor in neutral, even the motor tries to protect itself by shutting off some cylinders

Thank you Captain! I did not know not to accelerate in neutral.

We took the computer out to change the puppet valve for overheating and know it does not overheat, but stalls.

then it is a good chance you did not hook everything back up properly.
May need to take to a Yamaha shop and have them hook it up to computer to see what they can find out

Hi, i bought the YDS Yamaha Software and hook it up and it showed the TPS and Switch Position Sensor. I adjustes the TPS to 64 ( not sure if this is right?) Also, replaced the Switch Position Sensor.

I still have problem when backing up at dock it stalls, but starts right up.

Hope all goes well with the unit.
Where did you locate the software, and is it a stand alone unit or something you install on your computer and calculate these problems?
I am having some of the same problems.

I bought at Ebay under Yamaha Diagnostics Software YDS.

Today engine stalled in neutral and did not want to start again. When put in gear motor sounds rought and it did not stall, but would not go over 2K RPM. I hooked up the computer and did not get any codes. Everything seems normal, but the engine is not.\

Please help!
