I have a 2000 150 Johnson on my bass boat. It starts good and runs good. If I trim it up when I am trolling it will stall when I try to take off. I have to rev the motor out of gear a couple times then it will be ok. If I am trolling in deeper water and I can leave it trimmed down it doesn't do this. It starts right up and it is not flooding. Has anyone seen this or have any ideas. It starts good runs good and idles good. It just stalls when I try to take off in gear in if I leave it tilled when trolling.

Re: 150 Johnson stalls

tilting up throws the carb floats out of level, this allows extra fuel into the carb, you have to rev it up to clear out the excess fuel. troll in the down position.

I am thinking it is getting fuel while shut off too . But it did not used to do this. I am wondering if there is a check valve that needs checked or if an air leak would cause this?
