I just bought a water pressure gauge. The gauge came with several adapters and the pitot tube. The motor has a factory water pressure tube installed with a quick connect on the end. However the tube in the motor is not the same diameter as the pitot tube. Do they make and adapter to go from the smaller diameter tube to the standard pitot tube?

Hi

what engine is this ? Is it a newer optimax or 4 stroke ? If it’s smart craft compatible, you’ll likely get the water pressure read out on that or the vessel view.

Its a 2002 150 Saltwater, so there is no smart options. The tube in the motor seems to be the same size as the tube for the speedometer. I couldn't see how that tube connects to the pitot tube going to the dash.

so which is it?.. same or different???.. no mater.. they make fittings of all kinds and sizes.. "inline splice".. probably have it in plastic and/or brass...

Gee, a brass tee, 2 hose barbs for the water hose you are splicing, and a hose barb for the pressure gauge tube usually does it. You need to pick the correct hose to splice into. You want one that has pressure when the thermostats are closed.

See if you have a hose from the water jacket to the exhaust extension. That may be the right one.

my bad.. thought ya already had a tube on tha motor for tha gauge that you were tying into...

there should be a hose from tha very top of tha block, right behind flywheel, that goes to tha starboard side at poppet cover.. splice a "t" into that hose at tha top of tha block.. "t" will be same size as hose thru and down size to a bib for size of tha water pressure tubing..

jan.… T-stats have no bearing on water pressure..
