DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY DIAGRAMS ON HOW TO REPLACE WATER PUMP AND IMPELLER ? I AM NOT SURE OF YEAR 81 OR 82 SERIAL #5578763 MERCURY 150 6 CYLINDER. I KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT OUTBOARDS. I ORDERED A REPAIR MANUAL TODAY BUT IT MIGHT TAKE 3 WEEKS . I WOULD SURE APPRECIATE ANY DIAGRAMS ON HOW TO GET TO THIS IMPELLER OR PICK UP TUBE. I HAVE NO WATER COMMING OUT THE PEE HOLE , MY PSI GAUGE SHOWS NOTHING. AFTER A FEW MINUTES MY OVERHEAT BUZZER COMES ON. THANK YOU . THE WUNDERMAN

you have to drop the lower unit. look for the bolts around the cavitation plate (I cant remember how many there are, youll also have to pull the trim tab). drop the unit, then youll see the housing for the impeller and the pickup tube. a couple of screws on the houseing and your into the impeller. getting the unit back on takes of bit of working, but it will go without forcing.

Re: 150 MERCURY 6 CYLINDER OVERHEATING

I want to thank everyone for their help dropped my lower unit this morning took the top off the water pump housing and there was my problem , my impeller was all busted up and in some spots the rubber had melted right to the housing. I ordered my kit thru Napa today . I will let everyone know how the installation goes. steve
