Have a 2006 Yamaha 2 stroke the bulb is not holding pressure, I replaced the bulb and the new bulb is doing the same thing. I pump it up the bulb stays firm and then run the engine for 10 minutes, new I go to restart the bulb can be pumped 4-5 times.

Can it be in the tank, or the line, or the fuel pump. Please no just yes responses.

the fuel pump sucks fuel through the line..it is normal for the bulb to be soft while running or after running. it should pump up tight before running, if it will not you have a leak or bad bulb.

Runs 10 minutes, then starves. Sounds like you are running out of fuel.

Check fuel tank vent, fuel hoses for air leaks, other obstructions that the bulb can overcome but the fuel pump can't. Finally, check the fuel pump.

I'd also check the bulb. I replaced mine bought at Wally World and it went bad after two outings.

Perhaps reading too much into the original post! He didn't say the engine was quiting. He simply said when he restarted the engine next time he could squeeze it 4 - 5 times. If he is doing that every time he starts the engine he is making a mistake as it is not necessary to prime again as the carbs are already full or nearly full. ONLY if the engine is quitting after a few minutes is there an issue. As was pointed out fuel, is sucked through the lines after the engine starts so it is normal for the bulb to go soft.

Yes engine does quit unless I increase rpms to about 1200.

I would check fuel pump screws are they tight. 3 philips for body and 2 10mm that attach to motor. Do that and order fuel pump diaphram kit in mean time. Also the needles in carbs maybe due for cleaning.
