Can anyone give me any advice as to what is involved to replace the lower crank bearing on a 1988 150hp Mercury XR-4 outboard? Looks like a ball bearing on the bottom. Not sure if I need to split the engine cases or just remove the powerhead to replace it. Any advice would be appreciated.

OK. Sounds like I may be busy for a while and need to figure some way to lift the power head off without a hoist. Appreciate the response.
