mine seems fine right now but kinda like the little engine and was just wondering.
since it's a chevy inline six minus 2 cyl's are the idiosyncrasies the same?
things like rist pin slap and rocker wear on and on.
the rockers show no wear at all and that seems good.
what mod's can be done for a few more ponnies and still be reliable?
bump in compression, carb, timing advance, port clean up maybe cam?
i like my 1970 starcraft islander and want to keep the original pieces there as much as i can, just me.

At least post a link to the other thread so someone will know what you are talking about, that or just ask what you want to know.
Fishermarks post was about a 6 cyllinder, you have a 4. Different engine.
If you use the search function of the forum you will see there are very few mods you can do to the 2.5 and 3.0 IL 4 engines that will give you more power. That question gets asked at least once a month during the spring and summer.

Ayuh,...

Go find a 3.0l take out Core motor,+ Rebuild it,...
When it's ready,... Drop it in,+ you've gained the only 20hp you're going to find....
Then you can sell the 120hp as a core to somebodyelse...

Pretty Much,.... Except the I6 is Smoother,+ More Powerful....
