Can anyone give me some tips on filling the lower unit with oil? I can never be sure that it is full enough. Kinda hard to get oil in little hole. I don't want any costly repairs due to low gear oil.

Romove both the slotted drain, and vent screws. If your gear case hase a phillips head screw in the lower skeg, donot remove that. Force oil up the drain hole until it comes out the vent hole. Replace the vent screw, than the drain screw. This method prevents air lock.

Invest in a pump with the screw-in type fitting - relatively inexpensive and well worth it to prevent spillage of LU oil...<br />- Scott
