Hi,
I recentley purchased what I beleive is a mid 90s Gamefisher 15 ss. The thing runs like a champ the problem I am having is when shifted in forward the throtle will not move much past where the "start" setting is. I have chased the problem back through the linkage.
There is a lock that engages to block the throttle from moving forwad when the motor is in Forward Gear. I beleive this is a safety mechanishm to keep the motor from overreving while in neutral and someone has missadjusted it so it falls in the forward gear.
Prior to tearing it apart and trying to adjust I am hoping I could get some advice from someone who may have more (which is almost any) experince with outboards.
My best,
Don Shearer
