15hp mariner prop?

what can i expect to change when i change prop size going from 9.25x10.50 to9.25x10 . also heres what happend it has a rubber insert that was all chewed up and boat would not go to full throtle.it has an 8tooth spline and i think its an 1981 model,now ive ordered the prop :redface:and have to hope it fits because when i ordered it from this site it said 1989 or newer for the props they had listed. but back to the insert is that what they call a spun prop when it chews the rubber up like that?

Yes thats a spun hub and it can be repaired by a prop shop. Its harder to tell just exactly what a smaller motor will do with a prop change.But you would expect an rpm increase (200?) and better hole shot,ssuming all else about the prop is equal.When messing with props you should have a tach.Check out the tiny tach.
