Hi,

My aluminium boat takes a long shaft.
The motor I purchased, said to be long, is short.
Returning motor is not an option. Besides selling this motor and buying a long shaft...what are my options?

-convert from short to long?
I´ve seen the Bay kits...are there others?

-Transom bracket? or jack...?
Would these help me? The ones that have tilt and such?

Motor: 2000 Yamaha 15hp 2-stroke

Thanks for tips and hints.
I'm a newbie to this boating world and have learned an incrediably lot the past few weeks lurking here.

Thanks again,
Bye
James

Return the motor ... your best option ...... opening it up to convert might expire your warrantee .....

I faced the same problem so I fabricated a bracket out of aluminum. It has worked great for two season of daily use.

Hey Walker, what's the distance between your bracket and the transom? I'm going to have to do the same thing for my RIB until I can find a longshaft.

Thanks,

Bob

I almost had the same problem. I bought a 25hp but it ended up being longshaft and i needed short. So reluctantly I had to take it back
