Does anyone know the max hp limit for a 1979 16ft double eagle? Could it handle a 2 stroke 115?

Re: 16 foot Double eagle

D J C is from So. Africa and they don't have the liability laws we do. post a picture and lets see what comes up. i just traded a boat to get a mercury 1350 it came on a 16 ft. glastron, but all the labels had been taken off and the engine had a 1100 cowl on it. the boats was to far gone for me to restore, so i gave the boat away, i olny wanted the engine. i can't imagine what it did on that glasstron. i know it cracked the transom.

Hehehe, I'm so glad I make an impression .... I have a 16ft Swift speedboat with a 90hp merc on it but the label says, max hp is 115hp, although I personally think that a 115hp on a 16ft double eagle might be slightly too heavy, especially cause it is a 1979 model and probably have alot of wear on the transom, my point is that legally I am allowed a 115hp on my swift, and I am sure it will be loads of fun with all that power, so if the legal issues of farrariman is all good then I would say go for it .... but make sure the transom can handle it ... safety first ...
