16 foot thundercraft

I currently have a 15 foot flatbottom boat with a 1976 40hp evenrude on it. It does 25 miles an hour. I have a chance to buy a 16 foot v bottom thundercraft. Will my old 40 be enough power for it will it be much slower because of the v bottom
