I know there is a post a little ways down about the same thing, but I need a few baby steps first! I think I have received virtually the same boat! I got it for free and paid $250.00 for the trailer. I was told the transom is good but some stringers are bad and just feeling the floor I can tell it is terribly rotted! So here is my first of about 100 million ?'s for someone who's been here where do I start? I don't want to tear apart more than I have to. Any initial advice would be great!!!!! Ive never done ANYTHING to a boat before but have restored several cars so I am not a total moron just new to boats. . . I can post some pics but I don't even know what to take pictures of to get the help I need. Thanks in advance

Re: 16' MFG Gypsy Tri Hull

welcome to i boats.....

this is boat university....

all boats are built just about the same way......

and most of us here have btdt.....

start by taking everything outta the boat....seats, anything that is in the way of ripping up the floor......

take out carpet.

use a circ saw, to cut out a small section of the deck in the back area....(or better yet...the rotted section....(adjust the blade to the depth of the plywood...no more)

this is just a inspection hatch....from there, you can inspect the stringers....

post back here with you results, and we will guide you

in the mean time....read all the compleated projects forum ....you will gain lots of info there.

cheers
