17' Proline Prop Size

I have a 1990 17' Proline with a 115 mercury four stroke on it what prop should I use. I would like some first hand experiance instead of just going out and buying props and trying them. I got the boat with no motor on it so I have no idea where to start.

every boat can be different...it is nearly impossible to say exactly what prop to get, unless someone has the exact same year/model/size/engine/boat as you. it is best if you can borrow a test prop to get some idea what size you need. I would start with a 19 pitch prop, it should be about right. make sure you have the motor at the right height, most people mount them too low, this can really hurt performance.
