17' Whaler Fuel Tank ?????

I want to replace my two portable fuel tanks with one large tank on my 2000 Boston Whaler Montauk 17'. I want to mount it in the same location under the seat and would like to have the largest size that will fit. If anyone has any info on a good tank please let me know.

moeller makes so tanks designed for the whalers, i'm using the 26 gallon one on my pontoon.

Where can I find the tanks designed for the Whalers. I haven't been able to find any.

Measure the space where the tank will fit. Then check out the tempo and Moeller tanks (and others as well). Pick out a appropriate size tank (25-35Gal) and order it. If you get a light colored plastic tank, you will be able to observe the fuel level thru the tank.

BTW - You need an "Above the deck" type fuel tank.

I used a 28 gallon tank sized perfectly to fit under the reversable pilot seat in both of my classic Montauks, jmarshall.

I did have to find a low profile cap for them, but they served perfectly.

I forget who exactly, but Moeller, Tempo or another popular maker produces a couple of tanks specifically for Montauk replacement tanks. They have other tanks that would fit too, but you may need a low profile cap (available) to fit under the seat.
