So I'm done cutting my 1708 Baxial fiberglass which side should I leave facing up? There's dull side and glossy side.

Re: 1708 Baxial application

Hello Bass..

erm.. depends on what kind of cuts you made..

1708 mat backed should be mat down ( I recommend a layer of 1.5 oz mat first no matter what ).

If your cuts are not square cuts ( custom shapes ) then you have to put down a layer of mat first and put the Stitched side down.

Oh, I've already laid the shiny side up. What I did was put the epoxy on the new stringers and apply the 1708 strips with the shiny side up and then apply epoxy over it and roll out the air bubbles. It's supper tough now and ready to lay my fiberglassed plywood deck on top.
