I have a 1995, 175HP intruder that runs GREAT when I have the hotfoot pressed whatsoever. BUT, while idling in nuetral or with it in gear making my way past no wake buoys it always wants to stall? Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? VRO, fuel line clog? But as I said it runs great if I give it gas but this makes it especially trying to trailer the boat. Thanks for any help.

Re: 175 intruder not running right

If it helps; sometimes I have a hard time starting it if I haven't had it on the lake in 2 or 3 days. After I pump the bulb it stays hard; no need to pump the bulb once i've done it and like I said it runs great if i give it any gas whatsoever but in idle and just in gear putting it always spits, sputters and stalls. Any help?

Re: 175 intruder not running right

The entire motor was rebuilt this winter including the carbs according to my mechanic. He said he went over it with a fine tooth comb.

Not to sound outboard illiterate but I know enough to get myself in trouble. How do I set up my idle speed on this motor?
