175 Johnson lowering engine

I am getting light cavitation on takeoff after adding tabs. Grandkids can not ski. It has been suggested I lower engine on jack plate a bit. How is this done or do I need to take to boat shop.

Now I am in trouble, It is not one that can be moved except by bolts. My biggest question is how even must the engine be. I will use a level but realize this may not be exact. Otherwise I could use turns of nuts?? Looks like I must release a lock and then adjust with nuts. Anyway I will check to see if I can get model or something tonight. Thanks
