Hello,

A couple of months back I picked up a new (to me) boat with a 2000 Johnson 175 Ocean Pro. I'm having some issues with the motor (in another thread) and I'm trying to get my hands on a service repair manual. I'm told these are great motors but I can't seem to find much on my model number, which is J175VXSIG.

I have found diagrams on J175VXSIF, and those have been good so far, just nothing for -SIG. Can anyone help me A) find the correct repair manual and B) tell me what the difference between -SIF and -SIG is?

Thanks in advance!
Sam

The f and g are inco inconsequential for your needs.

You need SS 2000 60* manual.

I'll post the part number when I get back to the shop. Oops, I see you actually ha e a 2001.

You do need to be running 50:1 from a portable tank with a 3/8ths fuel line for any further testing. I had missed the no oil light in the other thread. This suggestion should be considered mandatory.

No Title

These will work as your motor is from the bankrupt years.

Thanks Jake - I'll pick one of these up.

I have a 6 gallon portable tank that I use on my 15HP Evinrude. Can't remember what size the fuel line is though. I'll start premixing and running that. Do the fuel lines on the medium to larger motors have quick disconnect on the fuel fittings or it is just a slip fitting on a hose barb? I'm used to working on the small HP engines. Thanks!
