175 to 235 change

Ok i have a 1979 175 evinrude thats blown bad crank rods pistons ect i found a 70s modle 235 evinrude at my local evinrude dealer thats been built but the coils and stater are bad there evinrude tec told me all my electronics will swap over has any one ever done this or know if itll work

Thanks ive been i merc guy till now and on those theres a big ordeal with port timing didny know if that was a issue withe these cross flows
