Re: 176cc vs 1720cc

The 1720 has an 8" draft(20" transom) with a 90 2stoke,the 176 has a 12" draft(25" transom)maybe a little more with a 4 stroke 115 on her.It would depend how you were going to use the boat.the 1720 is a little narrow (6'10")while the 176 has a beam of 7'4".The 176 is more boat,I know two people that choose the 176 for that reason, but there are a lot of 1720's on our bay here in Panama City.I have run mine 15 miles offshore on nice days.

I agree with gene. The 176 is more boat. Important if you go offshore. I've taken mine 10 miles off so far. I chose my 176 just for that reason. The 176 is a great model.

Re: 176cc vs 1720cc

the 176 is a heavier duty boat. I have 2 freinds 1 with a 1720 and 1 with a 176 and they both have 90hp. in terms of top-end performance the 176 is only like 2-5 mph slower. but then again the 1720 has a yamaha 2-stroke and the 176 has an e-tec, which usually has a little more torque. but considering the weight difference of 150lbs, the 1720 will be easier to handle and trailer, especialy with a lighter motor on it. Good luck!
