Hey guys just checking to see what the difference between the two starters above is?

I have a 350 Mag Ski S/N 0K260072 that I am working on and the Mercury part number is 806964A3 for the starter which switches up to both the Sierra numbers.

Wondering which one I should go with.

I checked my Merc. manual #18 for my '96 4.3LX. Merc installed either Delco-Remy or PG 260. The PG-260 is a permanent magnet gear reduction starter.18-6275. The Delco-Remy direct drive is 18-5913. My parts manual shows only your Merc. number above, calling out the PG-260 8" 2 7/8" end cap. It looks like the V6 and V8 starters are the same.

Ayuh,..... As far as fitment of Chevy starters, there's only 2 flavors,.....

Staggered bolt pattern for the big flywheels, 'n the straight bolt pattern for the small flywheels,......

Either size flywheel can be found on any sized Chevy motor,.....
Though I've yet to see the small flywheel on a BBC,.....
