18 hp Mercury fuel connection problems

Hello everyone I recently got a 18 hp merc serial # 6414249. When I first got it it initially was leaking from the fuel connection. When you had it unpluged you could spray fuel right out of it. I replaced the connection and it worked for a while untill it did the same thing again. I replaced it a second time and got the same results. Any ideas.

Is it the plasic type or alum fitting?

Yes Milk I think it is poor design, My 05 15hp 4 stroke does leak unless set just right. Just replaced it too. Be sure to vent your tank before you disconect the line!

It is the aluminum fitting. I will try putting it in the right way. I will post back if that does the job.
