hey everyone i think i'm gonna take it on !!!!!
60's modle 18' alumnium cabin cruser. the deck and interior side walls look like they had been done with standard plywood and are gone. captain chairs look like bar like chaits that had been drilled and toggle bolted to the floor. gonna take some pics tomorow and post. anyway the plug hole (witch is in the bottom not the back) was pluged with trash and i let the 400 gallons of water or so out today. it's a riveted boat and i seen no water on the outside of the hull so i'm hopefull. anything i need to look for ?? ohhh yeah checked transom..... solid as a rock. not sure about the motor yet 80hp evenrude late 60's eirly 70's i think electric shift. also the cabin has a plexi-glass windshield in bad shape any ideas??

I would check on getting it registered before you put any money into it. Then check around the seams for corosion. Then have at it.

lets see some pictures!!!

Im looking for a 21- 24 footer lone star cabin or starcraft chieftain, I love the idea of a BIG hull thats lightwieght, powerable by minimal power ... the twins or the 125 would power it at a hell of a clip - comparable to a fiberglass running those 200 plus horse monsters

That waterline on that boat is a bit scary. Look how low it sits in the stern!

Hey djohns,
If you're talking about the boat on ebay, look at how much set-back it has. Cruiseliners didn't have inplace foam so it ain't waterlogged. It's probably a pretty good ole boat for tha price. Those are original decals too.

c/6
Hooty

Hooty,

If it were mine, I would be doing some serious weight redistribution.

They Didn't Make Motors that Big in 1955......

A Foam Block, Glassed + Fitted Under that setback would make that a 23' Boat....
I bet that would make it Handle Better, + Set Higher.....

In later models, they did away with that setback and mounted the engine(s) on the transom. By the way, that's a 21' not 18'.

c/6
Hooty
