I'm new to boating and shopping for a boat. I know timing is bad, but I have to start sometime. I found a decent looking boat that I like but it's running a 4.3 mercruiser with a bravo 2 drive and 4blade prop. This seems odd to me based on everything I've read. It looks like they used the boat to wakeboard (I would be doing this too.) My question is by converting this to a bravo 2 drive (I'm assuming it's not stock) does this impact performance for speed and or towing? Any ideas what kind of performance I would be looking at?

Welcome aboard

Bravo 2 drives are for pushing houseboats and tug boats. someone would have had to swap that drive onto an 18' pleasure boat. especially one with a V6

the Bravo 2 drives are usually set up with huge props and V8's or diesels

I would pass on the boat. what else was slapped together.

If it has a Bravo drive it came that way from factory.. unless some paid a buttload of money to have drive and transom plates swapped.
