Hi, I just rebuilt my carb from '72 18 hp rude and it runs pretty good now (thanks to help from forum!) I thought it was interesting that with the new kit there was a tiny wire clip for the float pin that attached to it to keep pin going up and down( the clip is the size of an eyebrow hair) I didn't have it on the carb originally but now seems to make a huge difference. I adjusted the rich/lean needle till seated, backed out 1 1/2 turns then turn until engine smoothed out. I had changed the plugs too but still seems to run rough. Motor has 120 psi/each cyl. and is pretty clean. I was wondering if its normal that these motors kind of ran rough in general or is there something else I should look into that I can do myself without bringing to the shop. Thanks.
