18hp Evrd on 12' Aluminum Rated for 15hp

Hello,<br /><br />I have an 18hp evinrude from the 1960's. I am considering using it on a older 12 aluminum mirrocraft rated for max 15 hp. Any advice as to the implications of this would be appreciated.<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />CJF

Hi, CJF.<br /><br />Those 18 horses by 1960 system are about 14-15 by current system.<br /><br />Be very sure that your transom is in excellent shape and don't play bassrocket and you should be okay.<br /><br />Good luck.
