I need to get my lower end off so that I can replace the water pump. I have removed the four nuts from the studs. I have heated the housing with a propane torch. I have used a wood block and a dead blow mallet to beat on it. Still it has not moved an inch. Any ideas

You need to get the water pump is that what you are saying . I don't understand. Have you taken it off already ? Or have you tried and it will not come off? Or you still trying to take off housing to get to it? One step at a time and maybe someone can help.

The lower end is stuck and I can not get it off. I just got the motor and I have not had it apart before. The motor runs good but it will not pump water. I am trying to replace the pump but I can't get the lower end off the motor. Do I need a bigger hammer?

The motor was run in salt water and not taken care of. I think it may be stuck because of corrosion. Does anyone know where I can get another used lower end for this motor if it comes to that.
