19' capri correct engine size?

i have a 87 19ft capri bayliner. does any one know the proper size outboard for this its rated to a 125 but my question is should it be a 20 or 25inch shaft? thankyou in advance! james

awsome cause i had a 25 " merc 115 on there and i had so many probs. trying to plane! i just got a 20" johnson 90hp for 200 and i hope that will solve my prob! thanks again, and any other input is still apprec. james
