I have a 19' Grady White Tournament that may need fuel tank repair, replacement, cleaning. Mechanic wants to charge me $400 to remove, "patch", and clean out the tank. Is this a job I can do myself? Removing the access cover will be no problem. Is this going to be a major task? I realize I may be looking at a replacement tank. (I can see what looks like a patch through the inspection cover.) What are some thoughts...should I attempt this? Should I just pay to have this done. If this is going to take me multiple days, I'll have the mechanic do it. 1 or 2 days no problem for me to do.
