NEWBIE!
Just received a 1987 Seville. 4.3 mercruiser appears in good shape, but seating, deck and stringers needs replacing (haven't made it to the transom yet).

My question: reading posts here I understand this boat may be stern heavy. Since I will be taking her down to the hull when I rebuild the structure would it be a good idea to move the fuel tank forward a foot or two?

I am planning to rebuild her with a sun deck and u-shaped bench seating rather than the jump seats and loungers she came with in main 'cabin' area. The bow configuration will be similar to original with an ice chest planned for the center aisle.

I started taking some pictures and will post them soon. Thanks for any help.

Welcome Aboard!

This may be better posted in the boat restoration forum, But I am sure others will reply from here..

How many gallons is your tank? I don't know if 1 or 2 feet would make a dramatic difference...I personally would trust the engineers that designed her...

Seems like you have big plans..Good luck, you came to the best site out there
