NEWBIE!
Just received a 1987 Seville. 4.3 Mercruiser appears in good shape, but seating, deck and stringers all need replacing (haven't made it to the transom yet).

My question: reading posts here I gather this boat may be stern heavy. Since I will be taking her down to the hull when I rebuild the structure would it be a good idea to move the 28 gallon fuel tank forward a foot or two?

I am planning to rebuild her with a sun deck and u-shaped bench seating rather than the jump seats and loungers she came with in main 'cabin' area. The bow configuration will be similar to original with an ice chest planned for the center aisle.

I started taking some pictures and will post them soon. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to iboats.

Start reading! There is enough information here to fill volumes of books. Once you have everything torn apart the fuel tank location will only be limited by the height of the deck.

The 4.3 is a great motor.

Yes, sir.

Been doing quite a bit of reading and learning from all you 'pros'. Vast information here.

In relation to the fuel tank, I am not concerned with the height, but the position forward/aft. The original location is directly forward of the engine compartment. If this boat is aft heavy I was wondering if moving it forward a bit would help balance her attitude.
