HELLO,

Has anyone out there ever installed trim tabs on a 190 CCF ? The transom has a stepped configuration . It looks as though a conventional trim tab would be very difficult or even impossible to install .
Question : Can a trim tab piston be mounted in a vertical position or does it need to be on an angle ? I'm thinking of mounting the tab on the lower step where it is normally mounted (trailing edge) and the piston would be seated at a 90 degree angle to the tab and mounted to the second step, which is the transom itself . I have seen tabs hinged from a point foward of the trailing edge and the pistons are mounted straight up to the transom . What do ya think ?

Bullet33,

Yes, the actuator (ram) can be mounted vertically in the manner you describe. In fact it can also be mounted "backwards" under the step if there is enough space:

Do you have a picture of your boat's transom?

Tabman,
Thanks for your quick response. Can the mount on the tab for the ram be relocated if needed? I know this would most likley violate the warranty, but bennett trim tabs never seem to malfunction anyway, so I'm not to concerned about voiding the warranty. Getting a picture on this forum isn't easy for me, my computer guru moved out so i'm on my own. I could send it by phone. Send me your # to my email bulletproofwire@aol.com or eventually I will learn to post photos. What model would you suggest regular or sport? Thanks again, b33
