I have a 1992 Key West Sportsman CC I bought a couple months ago that I love. The only problem is when I'm fishing, water comes in through the scuppers on the rear of the boat. They are supposed to let water out but not in. I don't know if replacing the scuppers will help or if it has always been this way. Has anyone had this problem?

What engine do you have? Some of the 4 strokes are a little heavy on the older hulls. You can plug the scuppers,I do in the winter or when my wifes on the boat.I enjoy the cool water in the summer time.

My 2006 176 does the same thing. I've heard many of their smaller boats take a little water. There are scupper covers that have a ping pong type ball inside that suposedly stop water from entering. Saw them at West Marine. Might buy a pair myself.

It sound like the trolling motor plug connections at the battery end.The plug should be up on the bow somewhere around the anchor locker. You can take the plug loose from the boat and check the wire colors on the back side.Good luck with the Key West they make some nice boats.
