you might try the aomci site.as long as i spelt it correctly, its a antique outboard motor club that has lots of good leads and info.

Well to start, what model number are we talking about here? Also, what makes you think that it is shot?

Good luck, let us know how it goes.

If by chance you cannot find an original coil, there is a method of removing the coil from your existing laminations and using an OMC Universal coil, depending on your motor. Let us know the model number and we can go from there.
