1939 0.5hp Evinrude Cub 4264

Ok can anyone tell me what these are worth I have a friend wanting to sell me one. Its not locked up but not sure if I can get it running wanted it more for sa wall hanger.

Not running....not much.

I go to AOMCI gatherings and there are always a few cubs around. Everyone seems to have one, and it's fun to fire them up. Non-running ones seem to sell at those gatherings for about $100. Everyone who wants one already has one.

They're really cool to shine up like mirrors and have in running condition, just for laughs and giggles. As for pushing a boat...they're not much for that. You can row faster...truly.

But, they sure are cute. Someday I'm going to buy one at one of those shows and spend a month or two polishing the aluminum to a mirror finish and get the thing in running condition. Maybe I'll put a shield around the prop and use it in place of a jacuzzi in my hot tub.

You just opened a 4 year old thread with an unrelated request. Oh well it was nice to read the cub comments. I wouldn't mind finding one for $100. First boat ride I ever had as a small boy, was with a Cub my dad borrowed. Totally scared me to death.
