1940 Sea King Montgomery Ward ??

I'm looking at a Montgomery Ward Sea King. Lots of chrome and polished metal. One cylinder. The owner thinks it a '40. Can this be right? Thanks for any help!

Need a model/serial number to help you date it. Look for a plate on top of the transom clamp or post a pic.
