I just picked up a "C" model Allis Chalmers for $400 with a single point plow. Its been converted to 12volt and runs great. There was an issue with the hydraulic ram as the seal was leaking. Got the seal repaired, but now it won't move. I pulled the gear case plug out and it appears that the lube is low. This system I know does not have a seperate oil system. My understanding is that it uses the gear case lube. Just wondering if anyone knows exactly what lube it should take? What had leaked out was real thick.

I am planning on getting a manual for it, but it is getting close to do some plowing if the friggin rain will quit for a week. Thanks............SS

I dont know about old Allis but my old Deere is cold blooded if you start her and its cold ya have to let her run 15 -20m min at least before she will move. You have to give that oil time to warm up or she wont go anywhere.
