I recently acquired an old pre-war opposed twin Evinrude, and I've been running 24:1 in it, same as my '57 5.5hp Fisherman. It seems to smoke a little, and I'm wondering if it's too rich or just a characteristic of a motor of this vintage. Also, would appreciate any additional info about this motor if anyone out there is familiar with it. It's way too old for my Clymer!! Has the weirdest carburetor I've ever seen. Don't know how it works, but it does.<G>

24:1 is what OMC recommended, Squeakit.

You can probably get more info on it at www.aomci.org

Good luck. :)
