1941? johnson seahorse, where to begin?

i would like to rebuild my father's 1941? johnson seahorse. i know that it is a 5 hp motor. i would like to know where to find information such as manuals and parts for a machine this old.

Hi, APF.<br /><br />Let's start by confirming your engine's Model number.<br /><br />A 1941 5 HP would be model TS-15 or TD-15. There should be a plate attached to the transom clamp with the Model and Serial numbers.<br /><br />Once we have confirmed that, you can get more info from the Antique Outboard club site and a good source for parts would be www.twincityoutboard<br /><br />Let us know about the model number.
