I just found out that old motor I've had in my garage is a 1941 Johnson seahorse 2.5hp. It has good compression and spark but floods out. I need a carb. kit and starter recoil. Does anyone know where to start looking for parts?
RJ

Howdy, RJMill.

Start at a Johnson or Evinrude dealer. No luck there, go to your neighborhood NAPA Auto Parts store.

Last resort : www.twincityoutboard.com

Good luck. :)

Hi Rj Mill
Sorry to have to disagree with JB. Try Twin city first. I think the others will just laugh at you. What makes you think you need a carb kit for your HD20? Have you taken the carb apart? Just because The bowl is flooding doesn't necessarily mean you need a carb kit. It does need cleaning how ever.

RJ, I agree a good careful cleaning should help.
Probably the best place for info and parts info
would be The Antique Outboard Motor club At:
www.aomci.org .
Also parts and parts motors, manuals etc. appear on ebay regularly.
