1953 qd-14 for trolling?

hey guys. im looking at a 10 horse bueaty from 1953 but im wondering if its ok to run one of these for hours on end at 2 mph trolling for fish? its bueatiful and i kinda have a thing for these old motors. whaddya think? thanx

Use J6 plugs and adjust the carb correctly and it will troll all day long.

Ditto. Great motors. I have a QD-22. Do get the hotter, J6C plugs if you're going to be trolling a lot to prevent fouling. We want pics if you decide to pick her up ;)

That was the first year with the roto-grip throttle. Good old motors. Yea, I agree, it should troll just fine all day long. Just make sure your waterpump is in good working order. These models are actually calling for a J6 spark plug, but for trolling, you can actually step up to a J8 or gap your J6 at .040 to create a little hotter spark.
