1954/55 Sea King part?

I have a 54'-55' Seaking 12hp model# GG 9016A. I have 2 questions.....the parts for this motor are interchangeable with what other brand motors? I need a tiller handle and found one on ebay for a 1957 GG 9016C and another for a johnson but I am not sure if it will work and not really into wasting the cash to find out.
I was also wondering about the gas to oil ratio for it. I have read a few different posts but again not sure. I really just want to get this in the lake with my son before school starts! Thanks for any info
