Guys, I am almost done resealing the lower unit on this motor and have one quick question on the pivot pin to ensure I install it correctly. The seal kit came with an o-ring and when I removed the pin there was only a plastic washer but no o-ring. My question is do I place the washer back on the pivot pin and sandwich the o-ring between the lower unit and the washer or does the o-ring replace the washer. I also plan to put some 847 on the pivot pin threads.

Thank you,

Jeff

If there is no groove for the o-ring then just use the washer and sealer.

Right, it takes either a gasket washer or an o-ring (if a groove for it)---never both.

Thank you both for your help! Time to get this one buttoned up and onto my next project a 1960 Fastwin. I'm sure I'll be seeking advice on that one soon.
