1954 johnson

I recently bought a 1954 johnson seahorse 25 h.p(green).I cant find ant seriel numbers on it..It's been sitting for probably at least twenty years...i was going to replace the points and condensor, and replace the waterpump but havent been able to locate any parts to do this...any ideas???? thank you....:

hi seyahjr. check for an ID plate on the mounting bracket of the motor. you can also look on the engine block for a plug with the engine number on it as well. If that doesn't work, check for an individual part number on the carb or other engine part. it's not perfect, but it may be able to help you ballpark the date on it a little better. The points and condenseres for these old OMC motors was virtually unchanged for deacades.
