1955 10hp johnson QD16

I bought 1955 10 hp johnson QD16 . I don.t have fuel tank or fuel line.I ,am going to try bypassing the connection and connected to the carb. I.m going to put a gallon with gasoline over the motor and let gasoline run down by itselt.I want to see if water pump work. Q. could be a problem. Any help welcome.thanks

You could hook up one of the squeeze bulb things, then just keep pumping it.

or remove the lowerunit, stick it in a bucket of water, and connect the drill.

But how's the impeller look? usually you can tell if it works just by looking at it.
