My husband lost the part that attaches to my dads 1955 Evinrude boat motor that puts gas into the motor. I guess it's a pressurized "thing". Does anyone know if this part is still available or where to find a part that will work. Dads 85 and having a fit! Please also reply to dstfelix@yahoo.com ... Thanks!!!!

Hi, DM.

Try NAPA, then any Johnson or Evinrude dealer. If nobody else can get one, go to www.twincityoutboard.com

Good luck. :)

Exactly what part was 'lost'?

These engines use a totally diferent fuel/tank fuel/line connection than modern engines/tanks. Thant is why these old tanks and/or hose/fitting units sell for so much on the re-sell/auction market. If I read your post correctly, your husband lost an item that is costly to replace.
